The use of gasketing sealants is widespread in many industries, be it the food industry, the mechanical engineering industry, the automotive industry or the manufacturing of medical devices. The most common applications of gasketing are: electrical switch cabinets, other cabinet doors, dust and vapor barrier covers, etc.

The robust, wear-resistant surface of the foam seal resists mechanical stress during handling of parts. The amount of water uptake changes only slightly even after surface damage.

Our company has a decade of experience in the field of gasketing, so we provide our customers with an exceptional product for industrial use. During the preparation and drying of the gasketing sealant, the quality is constantly checked. We handle the storage and processing of the raw material with the utmost care, always strictly adhering to the specified temperature range and humidity.

With the Sonderhoff DM 302 machine at our disposal, we can perform gasketing on parts up to 1250 * 2500 mm. The machine is also suitable for tracking surface changes in the 2 mm size range.

The gasketing sealant is based on Sonderhoff Fermapor® K31 polyurethane-based two-component lightweight foam. The Fermapor® K31 family is available in many variations based on customer requirements. There are more than 1000 recipes according to the area of use and quality expectations.

Hardness: From 15 Shore 00 to 40 Shore A achievable
Compression load deflection: 5 kPa to 200 kPa (at 25% compression)
Density: From 0,1 g/cm³ to 0,6 g/cm³
Temperature resistance: From – 40 °C to + 80 °C (temporary up to + 160 °C)
Tensile strength: Up to 2 MPa [N/cm²]
Elongation at break: Up to 400 %
Resetting ability: Greater than 97 % (depending on test conditions)
Water absorption conditions: From 3,5 %, hydrophobic versions available, depending on test
Flame retardancy: Up to UL-94 HF-1 possible
